Hi friends! Welcome back and Happy New Year!! 2023 was definitely an interesting year and I, personally, could not be happier that it's over. First of all, I do not like odd numbers at all so for that reason alone I was itching for a new year. Also, 4 is my favorite number so the fact that it's an even numbered year AND it happens to end in my favorite number has me feeling like I can take on the world. I'm ready to put the last year behind me and start fresh with a positive mindset going into this new year. I have so many goals and aspirations for this new year and for this blog and I'm super excited to start sharing them but, for now, let's talk about the first outfit of the year.
I got so many amazing gifts this past Christmas (most of them being clothes because duh) so, naturally, I had to immediately start creating outfits. One of my favorite gifts is a coat I had my eye on for a while that my husband got me. I firmly believe that there's no such thing as too many of something you love. In this case, it's long black coats. There are so many different styles of them and I want them all. This one is a wool blend and it's perfectly oversized but still structured with a slightly bold shoulder, which I LOVE. For her first outing, I went with the controversial black and brown color combo. I don't understand who came up with the rule that brown and black clash because I strongly disagree. In fact, I think it's one of the most chic color combos out there. I styled it with a brown cable-knit sweater, a pair of dark wash jeans, brown boots, and my new gorgeous brown leather cross body bag (also a gift from my husband). If you see me wearing this outfit for the rest of winter, no you didn't.
**All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
