Hi friends! Welcome back and Happy Valentine's Day! If you follow me on Instagram, then this look should be familiar to you, or at least parts of it. I have been looking for the perfect pink coat for a very long time. It wasn't something that I was obsessively looking for and while there are a lot of pink coats out there, none of them felt right to me. So, I decided to just wait until I spotted one that I absolutely LOVED. I randomly came across this coat about a month ago when I was scrolling through my explore page. As soon as I saw it, I just knew this was the coat I was holding out for. I immediately purchased it and ever since then, I have been planning the perfect Valentine's Day look featuring this coat. One of the worst feelings as a fashion blogger is when you plan an outfit in your head and it doesn't come out the way you thought it would when it's actually on your body. Luckily, that was definitely not the case with this look. It was everything I envisioned and more.
Okay, let's talk about the process of creating this look. As I just mentioned, it started with this coat, which I knew I was going to style with jeans because duh, this is me we're talking about. Next was the top half (underneath the coat). I was initially just going to keep it simple with a plain, crisp white tee or bodysuit, but then the best thing happened to me. I honestly do not remember how I stumbled upon this deal, but I somehow happened to see that the DREAM pink blazer that I have been eyeing for over a year was on super sale. What was originally a $345 blazer was marked down to $114 and I nearly cried. I'm not always this dramatic, okay. If you're a fashion girly like me, you know the feeling of getting your hands on something you loved, but never thought you would actually own. You can't see the blazer too much in these photos, but if you check out my Instagram feed, you'll get a good look at it there. Anyway, so now I knew exactly what the clothing portion of my outfit was going to look like, but I needed the perfect shoe to go with it. I didn't want to wear black because I wanted this look to be as bright and fun as possible. I didn't want to go with white because white shoes can be a little tacky to me if they're not styled correctly. Beige wasn't right either, so where did that leave me? After some extensive Pinterest scrolling I figured it out. Silver. Metallics have been a huge trend this year and honestly, I wasn't planning on partaking because I know it won't last long, but I have always loved a metallic silver heel and I just knew it would be perfect for this look. I had a last minute thought to add a cute little flower bouquet as a prop and voilà! My vision was complete!
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day whether you're spending it with a loved one, friends or treating yourself. All outfit details (or similar) will be linked below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
